K.C. Cerny, Managing Partner

K.C. has been a healthcare consultant since 1984 specializing in large scale data analysis to support strategic planning and other executive decision making needs. He founded Management Information Analysis in 1990 and quickly developed the team expertise to provide any level of data management and analytic needs a client might have.

Dr. Cerny received a BA from Princeton University and Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin.

Sean Ramsdale, Planning Consultant

Sean had seven years of experience in the healthcare industry prior to joining MIA in 1995. Sean manages the development and application of analyses necessary for feasibility studies and strategic planning. She specializes in creating models to project demand, researching health care trends, market share studies, patient volume profiles, and building indexes used to differentiate geographic areas of a market. As a planning analyst at the Texas Hospital Association, Sean designed and analyzed marketing research surveys and developed environmental assessments.

Brent Cates, Software Engineer

Brent joined MIA in 1997 and has recently created and maintained several Oracle and Postgres SQL/PHP database applications. These databases are used in the tracking and maintaining of data for all practicing physicians in the Austin and surrounding areas. His contributions include management of team members, development of technical specifications manuals, database development, application coding, Oracle database administrator and network/system administration.

His expertise includes Graphical User Interface design, database structural design, database development and network application development. Mr. Cates specializes in PostgreSQL, Sybase, and Oracle database design and development, Visual Basic interface design, SQL scripting, and C/C++ development.

Mr. Cates graduated with a BS in Computer Science from Southwest Texas State University.

Tim Sherman, Senior Programmer/Analyst

Tim joined MIA in 1998. He designs, develops, and manages large scale, web-enabled database applications. This includes data entry portals, data maintenance applications, internal reporting, and web-enabled client reporting. He also contributes to systems integration projects, bringing together data from disparate data sources. Additional expertise areas include database administration and hardware/software support.

Mr. Sherman is experienced with many database platforms, including Oracle 8i & 9i, Sybase, Postgres, MySQL, Informix, SQLBase, Microsoft SQL Server, and Microsoft Access. He is also adept at many programming languages, including PL/SQL, TransactSQL, Javascript, HTML, PHP, shell scripting, Perl, Visual Basic, C, C++, Fortran, and Assembly.

He has earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Urban and Regional Planning with a minor in Computer Science from Southwest Texas State University, San Marcos, Texas.

Omar Torrez, Software Developer

Omar joined MIA in early 2009. Omar's ability to quickly learn new skills and assimilate new information makes him adept at working on a diverse array of projects. His contributions to MIA include development of sustainable database processes to address complex reporting and data infrastructure needs, ad-hoc reporting, and development/maintenance of web applications.

Omar's experience includes database design, development, and code tuning, database procedural and query languages, ETL, OOA, OOD, OOP, UML, .NET, Java, Scrum/Agile software development, distributed and n-tier application development, technical documentation, and shell scripting.

Omar earned a BS in computer science from the University of Texas at El Paso's College of Engineering (ABET CAC accredited).

Shirsha Bose, Software Developer

Shirsha joined MIA in 2009 as a programmer and database analyst. She primarily works on developing applications and performing customer specific data analysis. She has experience working with Oracle, Postgres and MYSQL database platforms. She is proficient in PL/SQL, C/C++, PHP and Java.

Her recent accomplishments include creating a universal master database for Central Texas physicians by automatically merging data from disparate sources. She also automated MIA's proprietary model for detailed forecasting of hospital bed needs.

Shirsha earned her MS in computer science from Texas State University, San Marcos, Texas.

Greg Straub, Software Developer

Greg joined MIA in 2011. Greg's experience includes developing, programming, and maintaining enterprise-sized web-based database-driven applications.

Mr. Straub is knowledgeable with many programming languages, including C#.NET, Visual Basic.NET, ASP.NET, HTML, Javascript, VBscript, C/C++, Java, TransactSQL, and PL/SQL. He has experience with SQL Server, Oracle and Postgres database platforms.

He earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Auburn University, Auburn, Alabama.
